Absolutely! When you sign up, you’re automatically on the free plan with no commitment. As your brand gains more certified budtenders, we’ll upgrade you to the appropriate paid plan—but don’t worry, we’ll always give you a heads-up before any charges occur. You can review and cancel at any time before billing kicks in.

BudtenderXP can become a core part of your store management strategy. Use it to certify every budtender in new stores before your product hits the shelves, then use the AI Coaching sessions (coming soon!) to keep them sharp. Hand out single-use coupons for your custom swag in the upLVL Store during store openings to build excitement around your products and ensure that your training stays top of mind. We’ll even provide a QR code for you to share as part of your store opening program.

You can’t—and that’s intentional! BudtenderXP offers two tiers of pricing: one for brands with fewer than 100 certified budtenders and one for those with over 100. Within each tier, you pay a flat monthly fee, regardless of how many budtenders get certified. This gives you the flexibility to reach, educate, and engage as many people as possible without worrying about individual headcounts. And if budtenders get certified at stores that don’t carry your brand yet, consider it a warm lead to open a new account!

You can’t completely prevent it, and honestly, that’s no big deal! Assume your training might be seen by others in the industry and avoid including proprietary information. Focus on educating budtenders about your brand’s unique value proposition—the stuff your competitors probably already know. The goal is to ensure budtenders are enthusiastic and knowledgeable enough to sell your products effectively. Plus, you can always keep an eye on what your competition is training on, too, if you want!

Not exactly. Any verified upLVL Member can self-enroll in your BudtenderXP training and certification. While you can’t limit access to specific individuals, you can target your messaging and engagement to certain groups within the platform. Remember—the more people who know your brand inside and out, the more potential ambassadors you have spreading the word about your products!

A verified upLVL Member is someone who’s gone through our simple verification process to confirm that they’re actively employed in the cannabis industry. We’re committed to keeping the platform focused on folks who are genuinely engaged in the business. This helps ensure that the people interacting with your brand’s training and certifications are serious about building their knowledge and advancing in the industry—not just casual observers.

We recommend updating your training at least once a quarter, or anytime you have a major product launch or new feature to promote. This keeps your content fresh and ensures that budtenders stay engaged and knowledgeable. As a general policy, BudtenderXP certifications have a 12-month term. Budtenders can recertify anytime, but this term helps ensure that anyone “certified” has received training recently enough to stay relevant.

BudtenderXP is the secret sauce that keeps your brand top of mind for the people directly interacting with customers. It complements your existing marketing and sales strategies by making sure the budtenders on the ground know what makes your products shine and feel confident recommending them.

You’ll be able to see which budtenders are engaging with your training, how well they’re doing, and what common questions or challenges they encounter during AI Coaching sessions (once those are live). This gives you insights into where your messaging might need a tweak or what additional support your brand might need.

If you decide to cancel, your certified budtenders will retain their certifications for the remainder of the 12-month certification period, but you’ll lose access to targeted messaging, AI Coaching, and any other premium features. Don’t worry, though—you can reactivate your plan anytime if you decide to jump back in!
